Verandas: Free Standing or Wall Mounted?
There are many designs of verandas to choose from and one of the biggest decisions is probably deciding whether to go for a free standing or a wall mounted option.
We offer both free standing and wall mounted options however the wall mounted option is by far the most popular. It is also important for us to offer the free-standing option as for some customers this is the style that best suits their requirements.
The main and obvious difference between free standing and wall mounted verandas is that wall mounted verandas are fitted against the external wall of your home or building and free standing verandas can be placed anywhere within your garden as long as a suitable fixing area is present.
Our wall mounted verandas have the upper hand in a way as they can be manufactured to any length and depending on the product, they have a maximum projection of up to 6m. Whereas our free-standing canopies are available in two sizes: 3m x 3m and 4.5m x 3m, however bespoke sizes may be available on request.
So really it comes down to the size of the area you’d like to cover and weather you’d like the additional protection from the wind by installing a veranda against a wall. Also, remember that if your home/building is not suitable for installing a veranda against then a free-standing option is the one for you.
