UV Protection and why it’s important in your veranda
Verandas have been designed to protect us from the weather, but it’s not just the poor weather such as the rain we need protection from. The sun can cause a lot of damage and ruin our day when it’s too hot and humid, that’s where our verandas comes in.
If we do not seek protection from the sun, we can end up with headaches, heatstroke and sunburn, which will put a downer on our day and make us feel unwell. It can also affect us in the long term by causing skin cancer.
One way to minimise the risk of these side effects from our warm, bright friend in the sky, is to apply sun cream but also seek shade as much as possible, particularly under structures that offer high UV protection.
Our polycarbonate verandas block in excess of 98% of the sun’s harmful UV rays and our glass verandas block between 52% – 85% depending on the colour and thickness chosen.
By installing a veranda in your garden, you can ensure that your time spent outdoors is much safer whilst seeking shade. This can include whilst your enjoying leisurely activities such as planting, reading and painting. Your children and grandchildren can also play under your veranda, keeping them cool and shaded and safe.
